Matthew Tosh

Matthew thrives on the live element of performances and spectacles. He is a natural communicator with an infectious, enthusiastic approach and a unique combination of skills.

His diverse portfolio spans presenting, production health and safety, training, fireworks and pyrotechnics. Credits include hosting the UK Festival of Fireworks (2019), headlining at the Isle of Man STEM Fest (2019), Norwich Science Festival (2018), presenting family science shows at WOMAD (2016-2019), H&S for the Cheltenham Literature Festival 2020, Cheltenham Science Festival (2014-2019), firework supervision for The Battle Proms concert series (2010-2019) and special effects for the feature film Early Man (Aardman, 2019). When not working on site, Matthew is a regular voice on local radio.

Matthew has built a strong track record of managing successful professional fireworks and stage pyrotechnics displays. He has particular strengths in coordinating fireworks to live music. He manages event crews efficiently and can respond to changing circumstances across a variety of venue types and weather conditions.

He has become highly respected for his proactive approach to performance health and safety within the science communication and fireworks sectors. He is regularly commissioned to conduct risk assessments and he is in demand as a H&S advisor on science show tours and festivals.

Jim Winship

Jim is Secretary of the Event Industry Forum, and focuses on representing industry groups across a range of areas, including lobbying government, as well as publishing magazine and organising events, including the British Firework Championships which is now the biggest annual event in the South West. 

Mark Bannister

A highly accomplished Event and Production Director, with over 18 years’ experience in senior level roles. A proven ability to deliver any scale, brand-led experiences that achieve their commercial objectives and are recognised for excellence.

Ed Poland

Ed worked on the General Election campaign in 2010 and as a speechwriter at UNESCO before starting Hire Space. He has a BA in English and an MA in Diplomacy, and spends his spare time defending Arsenal FC's managerial strategy.
